Based on an agreement signed on March 3, 2017, Germany has been organizing mass expulsions of Tunisian irregular migrants or those whose asylum applications have been rejected since 2017, in unannounced flights with German security escorts to Nafieda airport. Tunisian authorities do not publish any data on the number of deportations, the number of deportations, and the number of deportees.
Those forcibly deported from Germany do not have adequate legal support to challenge deportation decisions or access to reintegration programs.
